The past few months of pregnancy were rough on me The past few months of pregnancy were rough on me and I honestly slacked with checking in with my kids on their homeschool studies. To my surprise my 9th and 10th grader are making all A’s and B’s and I could not be prouder. They really have been stepping up and helping out a lot while I slowly but surely get back in the swing of things. Decided to treat them to a day at the fair for being such troopers! Even my pre- kindergartner has been taking it upon herself to practice writing her letters and her name so she got treated too ☺️❤️

My husband and I have been keeping the gender a secret from our family for over a month! Although the cupcake order was wrong and everyone was confused on the gender at first 😂 I enjoyed getting the secret out. It’s been a rough first trimester and some change but I’m finally starting to feel more like myself again. So thankful for this little blessing growing inside of my belly. God is so good 🙌🏽

I remember some time ago I read a post that a fost I remember some time ago I read a post that a foster mama wrote. In that post she talked about the grief of doing foster care. One thing that particularly stood out to me and for some reason I always think about is when she said that after a foster child leaves you’ll come across little things left behind by that child, like a sock… When our first placement was leaving I remember checking every nook and cranny while packing her things to make sure that not one sock was left behind. Then, it happened. Somehow one little sock managed to get left behind.

Today I was reminded of what that feels like as I was washing a load of clothes and came across “the sock”.

This last experience with foster care hurt me to my core because of the way that everything was done. I held on to “little miss’s” things for a little while hoping that God would turn all of this around. The way that it felt when I had to take down all of her clothes that I had just hung in her side of the closet, and pack up all of her clothes that I had just neatly folded in her drawers was pure defeat. But in that moment I had to give it all over to God. I had already done all that was within my power to do. I searched all over the house for this missing sock. I can’t bring myself to throw it away because even though it looks like I’ll never get to see her again, somehow I still have hope.
Getting some things done before a new foster care Getting some things done before a new foster care placement. It didn’t go quite as planned, but that’s the reality of foster care. Whole video posted on my YouTube channel. Link in bio.

Navigating day to day when we get foster care plac Navigating day to day when we get foster care placements usually throws me in a loop. I have often felt myself go into survival mode because the change can be overwhelming. I am doing things differently this time around to keep things as normal as I possibly can. Reminding myself to not stress the small stuff, to manage my time, and to give it time. Full video on my channel. Link in bio.
Happy belated birthday my Khimora ❣️🧚🏽‍♀️
