Third trimester, is that you? Seems like just yesterday I was sitting on the side of the bed with “first trimester blues” wondering how much longer of being sick could I endure. I made it past the morning sickness, excess saliva, nasty taste in the back of my throat, and the “everything tastes disgusting including water” stage. To celebrate this victory, I’ll be lounging in my pajamas all day! Who’s with me?!
So pregnant mamas, grab a cup of coffee (more like tea), get comfy, and lets talk pregnancy for a bit.
I’ve done this three times and each pregnancy has been different. My first pregnancy I had the worst “morning sickness”, my second pregnancy I had no morning sickness, and this pregnancy I had morning sickness (dry heaving), excess saliva, terrible indigestion…and I showed a lot quicker. It’s safe to say that this pregnancy has kicked my butt the most.
Now that most of those early pregnancy symptoms have ceased, these days baby girl is just hanging out on my bladder and nesting on my sciatica nerve (ouch). Aside from the pain and discomfort, I enjoy feeling her little kicks. They have gotten stronger (and so have these Braxton Hicks) and a body part can be seen pressing against my belly at any given moment. No matter how many times I’ve done this, I’m still amazed that there is an actual human growing inside of me.
Now enough about me. How have you mamas been coping during this time?
This has been one crazy year to be pregnant. Am I right? Some of us have had to cancel baby showers, online shopping replaced our long awaited baby shopping outings, birth plans got changed, we can’t breath in these freaking masks… I’m pretty sure you want to replace that cup of coffee with a glass of wine right about now.
We have had to adapt to a lot of sudden changes. But even in the midst of all this chaos, we still managed to make the most of it.
We Facetimed our gender reveals, invented the “drop off”/”drive by” baby shower, and we even got in on some of the fun with the trending dance challenges.
I don’t know about you, but the thing that has helped me cope the most is knowing that God is still in control even when it looks like the whole world is falling apart. I can honestly say that He has continued to provide for and protect me and my family, and I cannot thank Him enough. Sure, things haven’t gone the way that I had planned this year, but this situation has caused me to put so much into perspective. Baby girl is healthy, I have had ample time to rest and plan, and I have saved so much money by doing some baby shopping on Facebook Market. Like, I seriously never want to pay full price for baby stuff again!
So as the world slowly opens back up and we prepare to give birth to our little blessings, let’s keep making the most out of this!
Very well said. I’ve been here right by your side on this journey and yeah you’ve been through a lot this year with your pregnancy. Praise God for keeping us sane this 2020 year.
❤❤❤
Amen. I’ve been there and done it all but I would not have traded the experience for anything in the world.

Absolutely beautiful!! And wanting to replace my cup of tea w/ a glass of wine a couple times is so true. Keep them coming… These blogs are so nurturing.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the read ❤
